In this time of economic uncertainty, the world’s largest apparel companies are striving to improve their core processes. For this purpose, they are putting into effect strategic initiatives in a bid to secure rapid growth once the economy is on the move again.
The ability to respond quickly to changing market demands, the automation and integration of business-critical processes, the streamlining of procedures and activities, whether in-house or outside, affecting manufacturing or sourcing, ranging from product development to its presentation at the POS are all aspects that are universally acknowledged as prerequisites for growth

And companies are indeed asking their IT solution providers to devise an integrated solution encompassing all their specific processes.
Until recently the Porini solution was a combination of a Dynamics AX price list product (“Apparel and Textile for Dynamics AX”) and a a series of integrated .NET modules.
With the latest release of it's modules Porini has raised the bar once again, setting the level of industry standards to a fashion-specific solution for Dynamics AX which draws on PLM, collection development, collaborative sourcing, retail and visual merchandising.

Upon showcasing this solution in Redmond, Microsoft Corporation’s Paul Broomfield said: “I believe that this solution, which is entirely based on Microsoft technologies, represents a high point in solutions for the Apparel business world. The solution is a perfect example of how AX provides the ideal basis for a benchmark solution for this industry.”

This integrated version was originally planned for simultaneous release with the new Dynamics ‘AX6’ release; however it has been brought forward to be made available much sooner and will now be compatible with AX 2009.
The early beta version is in a customer pilot right now and will be generally available by January 1, 2010.
